THE OPERA.

DEtt FKEISCHUTZ. Weber's great spectacular opera, "Der Freischutz," was produced at the Theatre Koyal last night, with all the success which attended it on it 3 original repi-esentation in the same place. At times the interest evinced by the audience exceeded all ordinary bounds and passed into excitement. The opera was sung and played so well all through that it is unnecessary to specially mention any particular parts. Miss May was in excellent voice, and received the "usual marks of appreciation from the audience. Mr. Hallani, on his first appearance, received a most marked offering of sympathy, and for several minutes he was compelled to stand silent. He had a trying ordeal to go through, and he did it bravely and welL He sang well, and acted with his usual care and effect. All the other members of the company were quite as successful as on former occasions. To Mr. Willis, and his assistants, must be accorded very great credit for the splendid scenery and effects produced. The incantation scene was grandly done, and the excitement reached such a pitch that after the casting of the seventh bullet the audience rose en masse and cheered again and again. At the fall of the drop scene, cries of " Willis !" " Rainford !" " Hallani!" resounded through the building, and those three gentlemen on responding to the call were loudly cheered. This most successful production is to be repeated to-morrow night. To-night the ."Lily of Killarney" will be played, with new scenery.
