The PLANT, which is equal to the production of a much larger newspaper than the present Mercury, consists of two Printing Machines (the largest a Napier Perfecting, about Double-Double Imperial size, taking on the four large Mercury pages at once easily ; the other takes on four news demy pages). r|, hese are worked by a four-horse steam engine, ith new six-horse boiler. A Folding Machine, tnree Printing Presses, two large Imposing Surfaces, &c, &c. The Type in regular use, if all were set up at once, would be equal to about 110 columns, or 15 to 10 pages of the Mercury now issued. The Mercury is (next after the Sydney wmmmmmma days with four pages, and on Saturdays six pages—the largest in Australasia, being 28 inches by 19 inches of type surface, each equal to fully one and a half pages of the usual News size, as Sydney Morning Herald and other Papers). The Maitland Mercury is published at Maitland, the principal town of the Hunter River, the richest and most populous of the districts of New South Wales. The unrivalled Coal Beds of the whole Hunter Valley, surrounded by immense tracts of fertile agricultural land, an extensive and wealthy grazing interest, and its alliance with the vast pastoral interior, are attractive features, teudiug to establish a ittled, enterprising, and intelligent population, „nd securing to it wealth and prosperity for ages to come. The Mercury was established in 1843, and having always maintained a high standard, lay be classed amongst the leading journals of the day ; corroborative of which its circulation has steadily increased, and it is now larger than ever. As an advertising inedimn, it cannot be surpassed. It is regularly distributed throughout the most isolated as well as the densely populated districts of New South Wales and adjoining Colonies. The nett profits have been very large, and, notwithstanding several fortunes having been "" ived from this valuable newspaper property, s capable of great improvement ; whilst a much larger advertising and jobbing trade might easily be done. The plant and stock are insured, the benefit of which will be transferred to the purchaser. The Trustees are keeping everything in connection with the property in full working & will be glad to furnish bona fide sei-3 with detailed particulars; they also a full investigation, confident that it is impossible, within the precincts of an advertisement, to convey an accurate description of a property bo valuable and extensive, and which has been successfully carried on for a period of thirty-one years.
