TO TUB EDITOR. * Sir, —Permit me to deny the assertion of the witness Murthell in tho Resident Magistrate’s Court. He states : “ I was at Mclntosh’s Hotel on Saturday night about half-past eleven.” “ I left shortly afterwards, and went to the Royal Oak Hotel and waited there for some ono.” Sir, I. am prepared to prove that my house was closed at ten o’clock, and that no person was admitted afterwards.—l am, &c., W.
