I WILLIAM FITZHERBERT, Super--9 intendent of the Province of Wellington, by virtue of the powers conferred upon me by “The Local Boards Act 1873,” do hereby proclaim and appoint that a meeting of persons qualified to vote for “ The Lower Hutt District,*' under the said Act,, shall be held at the Mechanics’ Institute, Lower Hutt, on Monday, the 2Xst day of September, 1874, at 32 o’clock noon, for the purpose of electing five persons to constitute, the Board of Commissioners for the said District. And, further, I do hereby appoint Ebenezer Baker, the Returning Officer, at such meeting for the election of Commissioners aforesaid. Tenders are invited for the purchase of the whole or any portion of TEN THOUSAND POUNDS CORPORATION DEBENTURES issued under authority of Wellington Waterworks Amendment Act, 1871. The debentures will hear interest at the rate of six per cent, per annum, payable halfyearly. . The principal sum will be payable in seven or ten years at the option of the tenderer. ■ Debentures will not be issued for less than one hundred pounds sterling. DEBENTURES WANGANUI BOROUGH CORPORATION. . Issued under Act of General Assembly, dated 21st October, 1872. THE BANK OP AUSTRALASIA has been instructed by the Wanganui Borough Corporation to invite tenders for the whole or any portion of debentures, representing Thirty thousand pounds, aud bearing interest at six per cent., payable half-yearly. The debentures will he payable in twenty years, aud will be dated Ist November, 187-1. They will be for (£100) one hundred pounds each, and the coupons attached for each halfyear’s interest will be made payable free of exchange at any office of the Bank of Australasia in New Zealand. A minimum price will be fixed before the tenders are opened. Tenders in accordance with the annexed form will be received by the Bank of Australasia at Wanganui, up to NOON of the 31st day of OCTOBER, 1874, and must be addressed “ Tender for Wanganui Borough Corporation Loan.” Payment will be required as follows : Five per cent., on amount applied for, to accompany tender, fifty per cent., on amount allotted, on or before the 15th day of November, 1871 ; fifty per cent, on amount allotted on or before the 15tb day of December, 1874. The amount of deposit will be applied towards the payment due 15th November, 1871. The debentures will bear interest from the--Ist November, 1871.
