TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —At the Horticultural Society’s next show, to be held in November, the President offers prizes for the best samples of conifera, raised and grown by the competitor. As he has limited the number of varieties to sixteen, in order to assist nurserymen in selecting from their stock, he should inform them whether his object is to encourage the culture of conifera for timber or ornamental purposes.—l am, &c., One who wants to Know,
