Mails close at tho Chief Post Offico, Wellington, as follows: For Napier, Castle Point, and Poverty Bay, per s.s. Rangatira, Monday, at 4 p.m. For Wanganui, per p.s. Manawatu, Friday, at 2 p.m For {Wanganui, per s.s. Stormbird, this day, at 4'p.m. For Foxton, per s.s. Napier, Friday, at 4 cm. Edward D. Butts, Chief Postmaster. Tho steamer >lhambra i 3 expected to leave tho Bluff at 11 a.m., on Saturday, tho 12th instant. Telegrams for the Australian Colonies, or Europe via Java cable, will be received at the Wellington office for transmission to Melbourne, up till 9 a.m. of that dale.
