A letter was read from Mr. M. Rockel, asking on behalf of the Wanganui Pastoral Association for a few copies of the rules, which the secretary stated had been attended to. The secretary reported that the medals ordered in May last had not yet arrived ; and that he had written again to Messrs. Stokes and Martin to urge them to execute the order with as little delay as possible. The annual general meeting of members was held at two o’clock, p.m. Mr, W. H. Beetham was voted to the chair. The chairman read the notice convening the meeting, and called on the secretary to read the report of the committee, which was as follows : “ Your committee beg to report to this annual meeting of members that an exhibition of stock was held on the grounds of the Association, at Masterton, on the 26th November last, the number of entries being as below, viz. :—Homes, 25 ; cattle, 44 ; sheep, 42 ; pigs, 3 ; fowls, 1 ; total number of entries 116: being an increase on the previous show of thirty-four. The number of visitors that entered the gate was 409, being an increase on the previous year of 169. This attendance, doubtless, would have been much larger but for the very bad weather during the day. . “The accounts have been made up and audited to 31st March last; there was then a balance to the credit of the Association of £llO ss. 2d. The present state of the funds is as shown in the annexed statement, which shows a balance in favor of the Association of £64 7s. S. Wardell, who go out of office, in accordance with the rules of the Association, all of whom are eligible for reelection. “ Your committee regret to state the number of members now on the list is only sixty-one, being a decrease of thirty-nine. Your committee would, therefore, beg to suggest that each member of the Association should use his efforts to increase the membership, thereby 1 strengthening the influence and enhancing 1 the funds of the Association.” On the motion of Mr. T. IV, Balfour, seconded by Mr. C. Cundy, it was resolved that the report of the committee be adopted. A letter was read from Mr. J. V. Smith, stating that he was unable to attend the meeting ; also that as it was likely he would be absent a good deal from the district during the next year, he was not a candidate for the office of vice-president or member of committee. The chairman then stated the next business to be the election of president, two vicepresidents, and five members of committee. Th» following resolution was passed : “ That believing the many public duties of the ex-president would prevent his attendance at the meetings of the Association, and on that account he would rather not be re-appointed, the Hon. G. M. Waterhouse be elected an honorary member of the Association, under Clause 4 of the rules. The following gentlemen were then nominated for the office of President Messrs. 0. Pharazyn, W. H. Beetham, and J. P. Russell. A ballot was taken, which resulted in favor of Mr. C. Pharazyn, who was declared duly elected. Messrs. W. H. Beetham and J. P. Russell were then nominated, and duly elected Vice-Presidents. A ballot was taken for five members of the Committee, which resulted in favor of Messrs. Rockel, D. McMaster, J. Morrison, W.
