In all selling races the winner shall be sold with his engagements at the Meeting. Any v surplus above the selling price shall belong to ' the Wellington Jockey Club ; and any horse in srich selling race, though not a, winner, may, at the request of any person; 'made to the Stewards within fifteen minutes of weighing the first horse, be put up to auction in the • same way as the winner, the upset price to be the amount at which he is to be sold, or entered to be sold, together with the value of the stake. , Any surplus to belong to the Wellington Jockey Club. . The rules of the Wellington Jockey Clnb will be strictly adhered to. Mares and geldings allowed 31b. No person to enter a horse unless he in a subscriber of not less than £2 2s. to the funds; and no person to nominate unlesß both owner and n6minator he' subscribers of the same; amount. , . . In the event of any person'entering a protest, the sum of £2 2s. must be lodged with the Secretary before such protest is considered., This sum to be forfeited to the funds should the Stewards consider the frivolous or vexatious. ■...,.- - .... ...-,-. -. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross of all moneys, paid in accordance with the programme, for expenses. All disputes, claims, and objections arising out. of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whoever they may appoint.
