The amount of revenue collected at tho Customs for the week ending Saturday, 29th, was £ll4B Us. Bd. COLONIAL PRODUCE REPORT. Messrs. Miles Brothers and Co., of London, report on July 10 as follows ; . Wool. —Since the close of the June series there have been several inquiries from our Home buyers for parcels of wool, either bought in or withdrawn, and several parcels (amounting in all to about 1500 bales) have been disposed of privately at a fair advance on the prices at which they were taken in. English wool of the new clip is also higher in price, and trade in the manufacturing districts is improving, so with every prospect of a good harvest, we look forward for firmer prices at the next sales, commencing on August 18. About 200,000 bales have arrived for next sales, including some 50,000 bales from New Zealand. Wheat and Flour. —Although stocks of wheat, both in farmers' hands and granary, are very low, yet the demand is limited, and our millers are only purchasing sufficient to supply their immediate wants, as owing to the favorable prospects of the crops here, and also in America and the principal grain-growing countries of Europe, they are no doubt looking out for still lower prices. Some large arrivals from Australia have further tended to depress the market, and the highest quotations we can at present give are: — Fine New Zealand, C3s. to 645.; seconds, 60s. to 625.; and old and unsound, 545. to 58s. per 496 lbs. New Zealand flour is fetching about 425, to 445. per 2SO lbs. Tallow and Hides. —The tallow market has been quiet since our last, with little business doing. Prices are unaltered, viz,, 40s. to 41s. 6d. for good to fine New Zealand mutton, and 395. to 40s. per cwfc. for fair to fine beef tallow. Hides are in improved demand, and prices have slightly advanced, say New Zealand 6|d. to Cd. per lb. New Zealand Hemp. —The market remains very quiet; some 400 bales have been sold privately, at about late rates, but we think there is rather a downward tendency than otherwise. About 1000 bales have arrived by the Chili, from Auckland. Preserved Tinned Meat. —There is no improvement to report in the price of meats, but there Is rather better demand, probably owing to low prices, and we hear of inquiries from the Continent for mutton, at 4jd. per lb., at which figure a considerable order might be placed. We quote prices:—For 41b. and 61b. mutton, 4jd. tolgd, ; 41b. and 61b. beef, Cd. to 6|d. BY TELEGRAPH. AUCKLAND, August 29. Mr. Alexander Saunders reports:—Sales : Caledonian, 18Ss. Gd. ; Beach, 125.; Otago, 11s. Od. Buyers : Bismarck, ss. Sellers : Bank of New Zealand, 3555. ; National Bank, 70s. : South British, 535. Cd. ; Albion, 61s. ; Whau, 475. Gd.; Alburnia, 335.
