Bills are met with commendable regularity, and as the busy season is coming on, there is every prospect of a large demand for all descriptions of imported goods. Making every allowance for the difference caused by the alteration in the tariff, the astonishing increase in the Customs' receipts for this year, as shown by the following return, must be taken as a conclusive proof of the improved trade of the port, and of the great strides it has made in so short a time.
