Young Lord Clyde is a dark dapple Bay, with black points; very muscular, with superior action, and exceedingly quiet temper ; stands 10 j hands, with great bone and muscle. He has been shown six times, with tho following result:—First prize, as a yearling, at the Melbourne Exhibition, 1866 ; first .prize at the Kyneton Exhibition, same year; prize as a two-year-old at the Grand National" Exhibition, 1367 ; first prize at the Kyneton Show, same year ; at the Melton Show, when two yeara old, was awarded second prize, in competition with aged horses ;. and first prize at the Kyneton Exhibition, 1868, when three years old, on which occasion competent judges asserted that he was the best three-year-old in the yard. He is a sure foal-getter, and it will be seen by his stock that he comes from the purest of Clydesdale blood. His sire, Lord Clyde, was bred by Mr. Brown, of Mimsgre Mains, by Biggar, and gained the second premium as a three-year-old at the Highland and Agricultural Society's Show at Dumfries, in 1860 ; a £4O prize at Newton-Stewart, in 1862, when fourteen horses competed ; and earned off the East Cumberland Society's prize at Carlisle, 1863, from twelve competitors, many of which were prize horses. His celebrated grandsire, Blackleg, is admitted to have been the best horse ever imported into Victoria, and won more first prizes than any horse in the world. First prize, silver cup, vahie £5, Marlborough Agricultural Show, November, 1873. Young Lord Clyde will be at the Taita on Monday night; Lower Hutt on Tuesday night; and (if sufficient inducement offer) in Wellington on Wednesday night.
