Tho ordinary monthly meeting of the Fellows of the Koyal Colonial Institute was held at tho Pall Mall Institute on May 24. At the preliminary dinner, at which His Grace the Buko of Manchester presided, tho Ashanteo heroes, Captain Sir John Glover and Captain Sartorius, were entertained as guests by the President and Fellows of the Institute. There were also present Sir Charles Clifford, late of New Zealand, Sir George Young, General Dauhcny, Sir David Barclay, the Hon. John Hall, of New Zealand, Messrs. P. Young, James A. Youl, C.M.G., J. S. Dalton, C.M.G., W. A. Brodribb, son., of Victoria, Edward Wilson, Cornelius Thome, and a large number of colonists from various parts of tho world. Tho paper of the evening was “New Zealand, Past Present and Future,” which was read by its author, Mr. Frederick Young.
