COMMERCIAL.
Owing to the continued bad weather, business during the week has been dull and unimportant, with no change in values sufficiently material to call for remark. Our stocks of bulk brandies of best brands la becoming low, and quotations for Kartell's and Hennessy's quarters rule as high as lis. per gallon, though sales have been made at auction at somewhat lower rates. Case brandies still maintain their former figure. Kerosene has come in in quantities, and now quoted at 2s. 3d. to 2s. sd. according to parcel. Sugars still rule low, prices being kept down by auction sales of Yarraville sugars ; 1.0. is quoted at £45 ;C, £42 ; and Y., £33 per ton. Dried fruits are becoming scarce, but several shipments are on board the Weymouth which will supply present wants. Currants just now are worth 4jd. to sd. per lb. Stocks of flour are getting lighter, but there Is no alteration in rates—Oamaru flour being worth, for sacks £13105., bags £l4, per ton ; Canterbury mills, £l3 to £l3 103. Oats are unaltered at ss. to ss. 3d. per bushel; maize is in good demand at Cs. 3d. to 6s. Cd.—market fully supplied by the arrival of the Robin Hood with 700 sacks. Butter firm, at Is. 2d. to Is. 3d. for kegs. At E. 3. Duncan's salo of wines and spirits, on the 14th inst., the following prices were realised—the biddings were rather slack, and several lots were withdrawn :—5 qr.-casks port, 43. 3d per gallon ; 10 do Silva's, 6s. Cd. ;4 do three-diamond, 75.; odo sherry, Cs. 3d. ; 2 do, lis. Cd. in bond; 22 cases port and sherry, 295. per dozen, d.p.; stout, 10s.; Blood's do., lis. ed.; India ale, lis. per dozen; Lowndes' b.p. rum, 4s. Id. per gallon; Ilcnnessy's pale brandy, 10s. sd. per gallon; old torn, 12s. per dozen ; ginger wine, 4s. 3d. per gallon; oats, 4s. to 4s. 9d. per bushel. Mr. O. Thomas sold to-day, damaged wiro nalla by auction at 235. per cwt. BY TELEGRAPH. AUCKLAND.
