COMMERCIAL.

Wellington, Saturday evening. Trade throughout the past week has been dull and unimportant, owing mainly to the bad weather that has prevailed, and business in town has been restricted to the supply of current wants with no material alteration in former quotations. The delay in the arrival of the several vessels from London now ovcrduo, has had the good effect of reducing the stocks of several descriptions of goods that were rather in excess, but as large shipments are known to be on the way, thi3 circumstance has not affected prices to any appreciable extent. The stock of kerosene is quite exhausted, and the lew cases in dealers' hands have been eagerly bought up to supply country orders.. A largo shipment is, however, daily expected. In oats, a good trade has been done, and prices are firm at ss. to ss. 3d. per bushel. Flour, firm at £l3 10s. and £l4 per ton for Canterbury and Oamaru mills. In liquids only a moderate amount of business has been transacted. Bulk brandies maintain tho advance noted last week. Hennessy's and Marten's quoted at 103. Gd. to 103. 9d. per gallon. Case, ditto, in improved demand at 335. The Customs duties received during tho week at this port amounted to £1993 75.. sd.
