Captain Caldcr, arrived hero yesterday morning and reports of tier passage ns follows :-Lcft Melbourne at 2um on the 20th June ; cleared Bass Btrait at Bp m on following day, wind being light from the S W ■ on the 22nd it veered more to the south, and continued from that quarter until 23rd, weather moderate and cloudy, followed by mod um easterly winds and line weather. Arrived at Bluff wharf at 9 a in. on the 28th ; boarded Claud Hamilton In the Strait, exchanged flics and sent letters by her; left Bluff at 4 p.rn. on the 29th, had light winds, and arrived at Port Chalinws at 8 a.m. on the 30th, uischarged 180 tons and took In 70 tons for other ports ; left at 5 p.m, on the Ist July, and arrived at Timaru at 4 a.m. on the 2nd ; look in 0900 bags wheat for Atrato lying in Lyttelton harbor, and 160 bags oats for Wellington; left at 3 p.m. and arrived at Lyttelton at 8 a.m. on the 4th ; left at 12 p.m, on the 7tb, and arrived at Wellington at 10.20 yesterday morning. On arriving at Melbourne, for which she will sail tills morning, tho Omeo will bo nut on the slip and undergo a thorough overhaul, so that some little time will elapse before she returns hero. The weather board last evening showed that during tho day tho sea had been calm along tho coast. At Blenlieim the river was falling, Tho bar at Westport was moderate. At Eealey and Clyde tho rivers were high • and at linlclutha tho rivers wore very low. The s s Star of the South, Captain H, Farqnhar, expected hero for several days past, arrived yesterday morning at two o’clock. Captain Farqnhar reports of tho trip from Dunedin as follows Loft on Friday at Bp m meeting with stormy head winds; arrived on Sunday at 2 a.m, at Lyttelton, whore she discharged and shipped about 60 tons of cargo, leaving for Wellington at 4.30 p.m. on Monday and encountered very stormy head winds and high confused sea till arrival. It will ho seen by tho telegrams that tho B.M. s.s. City of Adelaide, with tho Suez mall, arrived at Auckland at half-past eleven yesterday morning.

Four steamers took their departure from Wellington yesterday, viz., the Taranaki, hound South ; the Star of the South on her long delayed trip to Fiji, via Napier and Auckland : the Rangatira, for Napier; and the Luna, also for the latter port. , Just before dark yesterday evening a bng was signalled at the Victoria signal station. She will probably prove to be Captain Williams b new brig, the Robin Hood, from Newcastle, which sailed from that port on the 2Cth of June. The Robin Hood will most likely be in harbor early this morning. The p.s Luna, Captain Fairchild, sailed last evening for Napier, having on board seven horses for Mr Ormond, Superintendent of Hawke’s Bay. As the Luna’s deck is not fitted up for the accommodation of horses the three animals placed there will have a rough time of it if any boisterous weather should be experienced. The Luna takes also a quantity of Government plant. She may be expected here again next Monday, and will bring forward any remaining members of Parliament. The ship Result, after waiting for some days for a favorable wind, had the desired opportunity afforded yesterday forenoon, which, it is needless to say, she readily took advantage of, sailing straight out without tacking, about twelve o’clock. The Result is bound for Newcastle in ballast. The fair breeze which enabled the ship Result to sail clear out of the harbor yesterday, was also taken advantage of by several smaller crafts, viz,, the ketch Hunter/bound for Patea ; the Blackwall, ketch, also to Patea ; the schooner Cora, for Havelock, and the Canterbury, also a schooner, for Kaikoura.
