AVELLixaTO.v, Juno 27, 1574. Tho excessive bad weather which has prevailed during the whole of tho past week and for some time previously has interfered greatly with business, in ad" dition to which, being near the end of the month, tho retail trade only buy to supply immediate wants; thero is consequently but little to report. Some speculative purchases have been made in brandies at a further advance, and several wholesale lots of Martell's and Hennessy's brands, in quarters, have changed hands at 10s. to 10s. Gd. per gal.; and Bisquit Dubouche brand has been quoted at Bs. 3d. per gal. Case brandies have not gone up to the same extent— Martell's and Hennessy's being still quoted at 325. to 335., and Bisquit Dubouche 255. Od. to 2Gs. per gal. Sugar continues low, stocks being heavy. Holders of kerosene are asking 2s. sd. per gal., d.p., our supply being nearly exhausted, but large shipments are advised and on the way, tho Eureka being now at Lyttelton with about 3000 cases for this port, while invoices of other large shipments are in merchants' hands. Sales, to a large extent, have been made to arrive at 2s. Id. to 2s. 2d. per gallon. In the produce market some fluctuations are noticeable in oats, which, with difficulty, sold at Mr. Thomas's auction for 4s. 9d. per bushel, although we hear the remainder of the shipment has been since placed privately at ss. Holders are asking ss. 3d. for prime feed oats.

Butter, in kegs, meets with more enquiry, and sales of prime samples have been made at Is. 2d. to Is. 3d. per lb. Stocks of really good quality are low, and we look for a further considerable advance before the next season's cure can be brought in. The amount of Custom duties collected at this port for the week ending June 27, was £1922 ISs. lid. Among tho arrivals during the week we notice tho Sarah and Mary, from Hokitika, with a large cargo of sawn timber, which, owing to tho increasing activity in the building trade, must prove a seasonable and profitable importation. There have been no English arrivals. BY TELEGRAPH. AUCKLAND. Sales : Caledonian, 187 s. Od. ; City of York, lis. ; Cure, 13s. Od. Buyers: South British, 4Ss ; Moanatiri, 345. ; City of London, 20s. ; Inverness, 3s. Cd.; Cure, 13s. Sellers : National Bank, G7s.
