«■ ■ A shipment of oats ex Hunter, from Blenheim, was submitted to auction yesterday by Mr. George Thomas on the wharf, but the sample was not a prime one, and sales were slow. Only 20 sacks out of the shipment were disposed of at 4s. Od. There was a pretty numerous attendance of produce dealers. MELBOURNE. The following is the latest Melbourne market report given by the Anjus, and dated the 13th in3t: — "The adjourned meeting of Messrs. McCallum, Neill, and Co.'s creditors wa3 held this afternoon to receive the investigating committee's report, which was of a most satisfactory character. An offer of composition was submitted of 10s. per pound, payable half cash and half by bill at four months' guaranteed, which was at once accepted by the meeting, and hopes were expressed that nothing would interfere with tho arrangement being duly carried through. Candles are also coming moro into notice ; we hear of lid. having been refused for a heavy shipment now landing. A demand for woolpacks has been experienced, and we learn that 3s. Od. was offered for a considerable shipment to arrive, without leading to business.
