THE OPERA.
FIIA DIAVOLO. The weather baa certainly been most unpropitious to the opera company. There has scarcely been a pleasant night or day since their arrival, strong breezes of the snellost wind prevailing, with close and penetrating rain. Last night was another of these disagreeable nights, and yet a fair house was made up to hear “ Fra Diavolo ” and see Miss May. The cast was the same as when it was performed a few nights ago, and the opera was performed as carefully and excellently as it was then. Miss May, as usual, was well received, and the whole performance was warmly applauded. To-night LA SONSAMBULA will bo repeated, to meet a generally expressed wish. It will bo followed by the amusing operatic trifle BOX AND COX. is the old farce which Buolcstone and Hurley made so popular at the Haymarkot Theatre in London, but it has been “ done ” to agreeable music, and forms a very pleasant entertainment. “Mrs. Bouncer” will, of course, bo there, as welt as the careful printer and the irrepressible hatter. „
