Snould you do me the honor of again returning me I shall continue to represent the interests of the City and of the Province generally, and not of any particular class. I need only refer to the Act* and proceedings of the Provincial Council to prove thrft t have endeavoured to etrry ont necessaryiefortes, nof only in the mtinagement of the public lands but iv the privileges which I conceive we are entitled to as" citizens. n ' On evety Occasion I have supported, and shall continue to support, every measure calculated to make our City wo#thy of the Metropolitan position with wbich> nature Jk»s endowed it.I need-scarcely say thnt :he sanitary condition ot our Gity has occupied my attention for siveral sessions,' and that the present imperfect Town Board Act watf introduced at an amendment to a more extended measure Vrhioh 1 yell hope to see carried — conferring uponthe City extensive municipal privileges— not a mere' taxing power, which is the principal feature in the present Act.
