CIR, — We have to inform you that the *^ Directors of the Nelson" Mining Company have made a first call of £ 1 per share, payable on the 31st of December, but giving a further period of two months from that date, before which no shares can be forfeited, though interest at the rate of 10s. per annum will be charged from the 31st December to the date of payment. Further, in answer to the request of the Wellington Shareholders to appoint Directors, the Directors of the Nelson Mining Company beg to observe that, prior to its arrival there, the Company had been constituted, and the Directors elected ; but as, on a point of such importance, it was desirable to have the opinion of the whole body of Shareholders, a special General Meeting was called for the sth of January, when the proposal will be fully considered, and the decision of the Shareholders communicated to you with the least possible delay. He continues to secure the well attested experience, knowledge, and skill in Teaching, of Mr. Frtek, who will impart all information that may be required by the Parents, on application at the School, held in the Catholic Chapel of " the Nativity of Our Saviour," next the new building of the Bank. * Such of our beloved Dissenting Brethren as may please to intrust their Children to our care, and may not wish them to be partakers in those religious exercises which occasionally will take place, — for, as Lord Bacon says, religion is as a sweet spice, informing and shedding a flavour over secular knowledge, to hinder at times its corrupting influences; yet, however truly desirable, still, on this religious head, shall the wishes of such Parents be faithfully, as hitherto, adhered to.
