It is presumed, from the wording of the message, that possibly the whole of the block is destroyed. Mr Nash’s business occupied one of five two-story brick premises, comprising a block known as Bunting’s Buildings. The back of Mr Nash’s premises was contiguous to a brush factory. The information at hand gives no information as to the origin of the outbreak. MiBunting, the owner of the block, is a Christchurch man. Mr Nash’s stoek, roughly valued at £ISOO, is insured with the Sun office for about £950.
