AUCKLAND, August 21

A. serious accident befel a reserve signalman named Matthew Grey, aged twenty-seven years, at the Calliope dock this afternoon. He was walking along a gangway from the dock to the warship Pioneer, when he slipped and fell to tlxe bottom of the dock. When picked up lie was unconscious, apparently suffering severe injury to the head. He was removed to the hospital
