The following games from the "Bradford - Observer Budget" were played recently at Leeds between Mr R. J. Appleby of Scarborough and Mr A. E. Greenwood of Morley. (The "Edinburgh.") Black—Greenwood. White-Appleby.
And the game was drawn. NOTES. (a) Mr Greenwood gives 32 27 as the drawing move. He considers 28 24 to be a loser. (b) If 30 26, or 22 17 then 37, and Black wins. (c) Mr Appleby afterwards showed that Black could have won by 69. The variations are as follows:
