The Tawaha Estate, in Wairarapa, which was recently purchased by the Government from the estate of Mr C E. BidwilL ie now surveyed and ready tor,, ' B 6 which consists of 2329 acres, is on the right bank of the Euamahunga river, about eight miles from Featherston. timber. Tawaha is one of the choicest spots in Wairarapa. The irea to be thrown open, .viz., 2301 acr£&, has been subdivided into sixteen dairy faring, and seven ordinary farms, Varying from 50 to 275 acres. With the exception of the patched of scrub and brush, and 50 acres of willow for river protection, the whole settlement is under grass, and .is well watered by the Ruamalmnga riOer and the Otakura stream. The tenure is lease-in-perpe-tuity. The farms, of which possession will be given on April Ist, are as follows: — DAIRY FARMS. Subdivision 1.

Applications for leases will be received up to 4 p.m. on Monday, March 26tli, at the District Land Office, ’Wellington. Applicants will have to appear personally at a Land Board meeting, at the Town Hall, Martinborough, on Thursday, 29th prox., at 10 a.m., to be examined, unless they prefer to undergo examination by the Beard of the district in which they live. The first ballot will take place on March 30th, at 10 a.m., at Martinborough.
