The fields were generally smaller than on the opening day. In the Hack Hurdles, Bounce, who finished fifth on the first day, was better backed than any of the other runners. Flamen came into the straight full of running, but when Jenkins got the whip out at the distance, the horse appeared to “turn it up.” In the High-weight Hack Handicap, for gentlemen riders, the president of the club, Mr C.
