Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, the little German State whose young ruler, the English born-and-bred Duke of the Duchy, took over the reins of government in July last, has a total area of about 755 square miles, or not quite as large as Warwickshire. The youthful prince will preside over the fortunes of about 230,000 people, of whom the fair sex outnumber the males by about 18,000. •The Castle of Friedenstein is the principal building of the town of Gotha, and is also one of the many residences of the ducal family. Gotha is a handsome, well-built town, the museum of which contains a very fine collection of treasures and antiquities. Many of the famous German sausages come from the town, 'Which is also noted as the place from which the well-known “ Almanacih de Gotha” is published*
