The death occurred at Carterton on Saturday morning, at the age of seventy-one, of Mrs Mary Ann Goodin,. At the age of seven she left Kent for New Zealand, arriving in Wellington by the Lord William Bentinck in 1841. The family settled at the Hut* for some years, witnessing there the first Maori disturbances. Mrs Goodin settled in the Wairarapa with her husband in 1860. The surviving family consists of seven sons and four daughters. There ar3 thirty-three grandchildren and sixteen great granchildren. Forty Shropshire rams were shipped at Lyttelton for Sydney by the Monowai on Friday, consigned by Dalgety and Co. to their Sydney branch. The Warrimoo, which left Lyttelton for Melbourne on Friday, took a consignment of 50 rams, skipped by Field and Royda to Power and Co.. Melbourne.
