COLLEGE DISCIPLINE
CHRISTCHURCH, August 17. Breaches of discipline are alleged against some students of Canterbury College, and the Professorial Board has issued an ultimatum that unless the offenders submit themselves to the Board by 9 o’clock on Saturday morning the college will be closed except for the purposes of instruction. The offences complained of by the Board are;—Firstly , destruction of a table and some locker-doors in the students’ room; secondly, interference with college clock on degree day ; third iy, breaking into the girls’ cottage on the night preceding degree-day, Sind scattering gowns belonging to lady students around various parts of the college. The Students’ Association is doing all possible to promote discipline, and the secretary considers that the authors of the various offences will submit themselves to the Professorial Board, but if they do not, the association will forward the names of those who are known to have taken part.
