It is well-known and adm tted that to arrest oil. grease and other impurities from the exhaust condensed steam before returning it to the boiler® as hot water is one of the most important mechanical problem®. It ha® been found possible to minimise this danger, but now Mr Cowern claims that his patent is perfectly effectual and that after passing through his filter, the water is pure. It is also claimed that the application of it will extend to city and house supply, and for all purposes where pure water is essential. Experts who have seen it are most favourably impressed with it, and consider it a success. Mr Cowern (accompanied by Mrs Cowern) will proceed to London in connection with the patent
