Between 25,000 and 30,000 boxes of butter are at present stored in the cool stares throughout the colony. This is not, however, being kept back for early spring shipment, as was the case last year (when heavy consignments were stored in the hope of the market rising), but is being retained mainly for local consumption. Producers have shipped Home very late this season, in view of the good prices ruling for butter.
