At a contest between seven district brass bands of second-class grade at Invercargill oil Wednesday, Gore won the marching music competition with 84 points, Winton 80, Wyndliam 77, clutha 76, Bluff 74, O'repuki 72, Nightcans 70. The waltz competition repaints, Winton 80, Wyndliam 77, Balclutha 82, Winton 78, Bluff 80, Orepuki 81, JNightcaps 76. The points being aggregated, the three first named take the prizes.
