QUACK CURES.

±n a little Russian village situated not. tar from the town of Orla, a native recently sought the advice of a travelling quack. This man prescribed a course of mud baths. The patient was to bury himself in the mud and remain there continuously for 40 days and 40 nights. Tie ivas foolish enough to follow’ out these instructions in spite of the advice of friendvS, who, eventually, seeing his great sufferings, forcibly removed him from his living tomb. The mischief was done, however and the poor misguided victim died three davs later in great pain.
