DETAILS OF THE DRIFT. SYDNEY, April 3. Fuller details concerning the steamer I’ilbarra show that for a. time she was actually abandoned. After the first mate’s boat had been despatched with fhe women and children to Erromanga, tlie steamer drifted so close in that it was feared she Avould strike on a reef. Tavo boats containing all aboard Avere launched, and stood by till the morning The Pilbarra Avas then clear of the danger, and the occupants of the boats AA'ent aboard again. During the subsequent twelve days sea-anchors and other methods Avere employed to ease the drift. The heavy sea running prevented efforts to do anything to the damaged propeller.
