The Hqn Kathleen Plunket, sister of his Excellency th© Governor, is at present staying in Wellington. Mr James M. Ling, of Crown street, Sydney, who resided in Wellington over a quarter of a century ago, is iev isiting the city. On the eve of their departure from St. Paul’s parish, the Rev H. T. Stealey and Mrs Stealey were presented last evening with a purse of sovereigns by members of the Tinakori road congiegation. in animations for four vacant seats on the Victoria College Council closed on Monday. The nominations received, were-: —Parliament airy rep resent a t ive, Dr Knight; Education Boards’ representative, Mr R. MoOa-llum (.Blenheim) ; teachers’ representative, Rev W. A. Evans; graduates’ representative, Mr H. P. Richmond. These gentleman have therefore been duly elected.
