AT THE RAILWAY STATION.

“Humorous and exciting incidents are always happening at a rai'way station.” a station master says. “1 was once watching a couple of bovs tossing up coins on the platform when a penny fell between the metals. Quick as thought, a little dog that was with them sprang on the line to recover the coin.

“At that instant a train Durst in from the tunnel. The dog tried to reach the high platform, but failed, while its master had not time to get down and help it.

“But the youth made up his mind in a moment. He turned and bolted down the platform, calling to the dog, who followed between the rails. The platform was a long one. and the train was coming in at a high rate of speed. Everyone watched the race for life in breathless silence. Faster and faster ran the master, faster and faster ran the dog, but the train gained rapidly, and when it finally pulled up the front wheel ot the engine was scarcely a foot from the exhausted animal.”
