WAIPUKURAU.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The secretary of the Waipawa District Hospital begs to acknowledge with many thanks the receipt of <£2s, per Mr L. McHardy being a bequest to the institution by the late Mr Chas. Chapman. The annual meeting of th© Public Libray was held on the 22nd inst., Mr A. Jones occupying the chair. The balancesheet showed a credit balance of <£36 11s sd, and was passed with much gratification. Mr C. J. Cooke, hon. secretary, presented a report, which showed that the membership was 38 —an increase upon former years. It was decided to ask Mr Chambers to submit plans of a building to cost abount <£loo. A vote of thanks was passed to the honorary librarian (Mr Cooke). It is a matter for regret to his friends that Mr C. J. Cooke, who lias been unwell for some time, has been ordered by his medical adviser to take a month's holiday. Mr Cooke will leave 'Waipukurau in search of health as soon as a relieving teacher has been appointed.
