WEDDINGS.

CANNON—HUNTER

A very pretty AA-edding Avas solemnised at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Wellington, on March 8. The contracting parties Avere William John Cannon, second son of Mr C. J. Cannon, of Dunedin, and Jane Hunter (Jennie), eldest daughter of Mr Thomson (Wailii, Auckland). The officiating clergyman AA r as the Rev. Dr Gibb. The bride, avlio Avas given aivay by her brother, in the absence of her father. Avore a handsome gOAvn and the usual orthodox wreath and A'eil and carried a sliOAA'er bouquet, the gift of the bridegroom. The bride AA'as attended by four bridesmaids, the Misses Isabella and Jessie Thomson (sisters of the bride), and the Misses Lucy and Brenda Cannon, of Dunedin (sisters of the bridegroom). The bridesmaids wore pretty froeks of champagne-coloured silk, smart red hats, and carried pretty shower bouquets, gifts of the bridegroom. Mr H. H. M c Master acted as best man, and Messrs R. P. Hood and C. Grey as groomsmen. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride Avas a cold chain and pearl pendant. The bride’s gift to the bride-, groom AA-as a gold chain and locket. Each of the bridesmaids wore gold bamboo bangles, gifts of the bridegroom. Tlie bride wore a pearl crescent, the gift of the bridegroom’s father. The presents receried were numerous and costly, and amonsrst them was a cheque to the bride from her parents. After the ceremony Mr and Mrs Thomson entertained; a number of guests at Godber’s Rooms, Cuba street, where the usual toasts were duly honoured. The bride’s traveling dress was a fme naA'y blue cloth (tailor made). ielieA r ed Avith cream, and hat of burntcoloured chiffon garlanded with eorn-floAA-ers- Mr and Mrs Cannon left for Wanganui, Avhere tlie honeymoon is being spent. CARSON—RICHARDSON. (From Our Bunnythorpe Correspondent.) On Wednesday an exceedingly pretty Avedding took place at our Anglican Church. The interested parties Avere Mr Frederick Gilbert Carson (son of Mr Gilbert Carson, of +lie “Wanganui Chronicle”), and Miss Agnes Maria (Nessie) Richardson, neice of Mr H. Richardson, postmaster of Bunnythorpe. The liev. Mr Klinginger officiated at the ceremony. Th© service AA'as choral, the organ be ng beautifuli played by Miss Carson, sister of tlie bridegroom. The bride was given aAvay b.> her uncle, Mr H. Richardson, and Misses Richardson and Annie Carson were br-Pesmaids. Mr IR ivey Thomas, of Wellington, Avas bestman, and Mr Henders n if Huntervilie, was groomsman. The bride Avas magnificently attired, and Avore a splendid gold bangle bracelet, the gift of the bridegroom, and the bridesmaids AA'ere also beautifully and tastefully dressed, and wore hendso e gold chains and pendants, the gift of the bridegroom. The bride and bridesmaids also carried magnificent shoAver bouquets. The Church Avas i l Avith an admiring croAVci and the function Avas a delightful one. There Avere about forty guests at the wedd.ng breakfast, which took place in Mr and Mrs Richardson’s house. The Avedding cake, Avhich Avas much admired, was made and presented to the bride by her aunt, Mrs James Stevens, Avife of Mr Janies Stevens, postmaster at Hawera. The presents Avere very numerous, and consisted of a larga quantity of noc only useful but many ornamental and valuable articles. Mr and Mrs F. G. Carson left for Napier to spend their honeymoon.
