Mr W. Pritchard had tlie misfortune to fall off a load of liay at Mr S. Grear’s a day or two ago and dismcmea lus shoulder, which will lay him up for a month at least.
Hast week lias seen nearly all the hay cut and stacked, wh.ch is a great relief to the many sorrows of our dairy farmers.
The clearing sale of dairy stock, held on Scott's road by the New Zealand Bo an and Mercantile Agency (Jo. last week, was not a record one for prices, but stnl cows were not by any means of such iow values as have been ruling. -Mrs Burns, who had her thigh broken some time ago in a trap accident, is progressing favourably. Mr P. and Miss Perry left here yesterday for New Plymouth, en route to Auckland and Rotorua, tor the purpose of health betterment.
Rating on unimproved value was carried at the poll on Saturday, and will come into operation on tlie 31&’t of March over the whole of the Kairanga County. January 17th.
