The annual meeting of the Wellington Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Society was held at the Silver Grid last week. Mr G. Finn occupied the .-chair, and there were about two dozen members present. The report and balancesheet showed a credit balance of £136 3s assets over liabilities, and a credit banking balance of £33 17s 7d. A credit balance of £l3 7 3d for the year was shown, after distributing £l4-9 13s 7d in prize money, and other expenses amounting to £2OB Is Id. The election . ■of office-bearers for the ensuing year resulted-—Patron, Lord Plunket; president, !iis Worship the Mayor Cre-elect-cd); vice-presidents. Messrs J. Casey, T. J. Leighton, M. Grenside. It: 13. Bristow, F. Townsend, R. EL Bannister, G. Remington, A. H. Fullford; honorary auditor, Mr H. Kember, F.1.A.N.Z.; trustees, Messrs Bristow and Townsend ; honorary treasurer, Mr A. Simpson; delegate to the North Island Poultry, • Pigeon, and Canary Association, Mr. MG. Grenside; committee, Messrs G. Finn, M. Grenside, A. Simpson, T. Doig, G. Fearn, H. E. Dovey, J. Currie, F. Cooper, T.- Jamieson, D. Murphy, A. Doig, and J. S. Adams; honorary secretary, Mr F. Shaw. The late secretary, Mr H. E. Dovey, declined to be renominated for the position. Hearty votes of thanks were accorded the officebearers during the past year. During last month the number of persons who arrived in the colony were 1777, and departures totalled 1692. In i -July, 1903, the numbers were 1573 and 1375 respectively. Captain Voss, in his little ocean craft Tilikum, arrived at Pernambuco, South America, on May 21st, thus completing his Undertaking to sail round the world-in his Indian canoe. Mr Campbell Harrison, a young Australian, joined Pa-ptain Voss at South Africa.
