AUCKLAND, August 19. There has been a substantial revival on the Stock Exchange, following an important development in several mines, notably the Wail:i Extended, now quoted at 7s 3d. Tasman Consolidated is quoted at 7s; Bunker’s Hill, 3s 4d; Old Hauraki, paid up 3s Bd, contributing 3s 6d. On the latter there has been a rise of 2s since yesterday, on the supposition that they have cut the famous Legge’s lode. Kauri Timber Company’s contributing shares are quoted at 4s 9d. AUCKLAND, August 22. During the four weeks ended August 13th, the V 7 aihi Gold Mining Company treated 19,690 tons of ore for bullion, valued at £52,643. The Royal Oak Goldmining Company from last month’s run at the battery hanked 365 cz of retorted gold, valued at £997. REEiFTON, August 19. Big River mine manager reports for week: No. 7 level, winze sunk Bft, making depth 904 ft. There is at present 4ift of stone in the east end of the winze, and 3ft in west end. Stone has averaged 3ft wide during the week, and shows gold freely. Drive going to bottom of intermediate winze' has been driven 6ft. At present there is 4ft of stone in face of drive. The return for the Mosquito Gold Dredging Company for nine days is 460 z. Tlio Progress Mines of New Zealand, Ltd., report on the operations for the month of July as followsCloo tons of stone mined, 4930 tons were crushed, producing 17870 z 12dwt 9grs of bullion, valued at £7359. Ninety tons of concentrates were chlorinated, yielding bullion valued at £B2O, and 2386 tons of tailings were evanided. yielding bullion valued at £o2o.

At tne Consolidated Goldfields of New Zealand, Ltd.,. 1080 tons stone were crushed for a return of 4330 z 9dwt 12grs of bullion, valued at £1760. Fifteen tons of concentrates were produced, and 700 tons of coarse sands were cyanided, the latter yielding bullion valued at £261. At the Wealth of Nations during the months 1060 tons of quartz were crushed, yielding 3190 z 7dwt of bullion, valued ax £1315. Thirteen tons of concentrates were produced, and 720 tons of coarse sands were cyanided, the latter yielding bullion valued at £473 11s lOd At the Energetic mine No. 7 level has been extended 98ft, and the cross-cut by 18ft. One hundred and six tons of ouartz coming from No. 7 level has been sent to the WealDi of Nations mill to be crush6<The Welcome Mine, which was worked on tribute from October, 1903. until May, 1904, when the tribute was relinquished, is now being worked by the company. No. 5 rise lias been put up a distance of 162 ft. The' contract for driving the lowlevel tunnel, cross-cut, has since been extended a further 38ft.
