Otto Ilerdigan, who some considerable time ago escaped from prison in this colony, was brought back from New South Wales last week, in charge of Ooustablo Quartermain. Herdigan was identified by means of the finger-print system recently instituted between Now Zealand and Australia. Hordigan’s account of his escape from this , colony shows that he wandered by land and sea from Dunedin to Auckland, at which port he took passage by the mail steamer Ventura to Sydney.
