GOLF.
On Saturday the ladies of the Wairarapa Golf Club commenced their annual tournament at Rototawai, including the championship. The links were in perfect order. Unfortunately Mrs W. B. Bidwill, last year’s champion, was unable to play. The followin" were the results of the various competitions. The teams match again Miramar was won hy Miramar by 5 points : Handicap Medal Match.—Miss Chapman, 1; Mrs F. Pearce, 2. Best Nine Holes.—Mrs Tweed and Miss Chapman tied. Approaching and Putting.—Miss Harcourt, 1; Mrs Tweed, 2; Miss Bidwill, 3. Driving.—Mrs Tweed, 1; Mrs Tu,rnbull, 2; Miss 'V. Hannay, 3. Consolation Handicap.—Mrs Hume, 1 down. The championship results were as follows : First Round.—Miss W. Hannay beat Mrs Eilgar, 6 up and 4 to play; Miss Bidwill beat Mrs Tweed, 4 up and 3 to play; Mrs Thru bull beat Miss Beetliam, 9 up and 8 to play; Miss Harcourt beat Mrs Hume, 8 up and 6 to play. Semi-finals.—Mrs Turnbull • beat Miss Hannay, 3 up and 2 to play; Miss Bidwill beat Miss Harcourt, 3 tip and 1 to play. Final.—Mrs Turnbull beat Miss Bidwill, 2up and Ito play. Miss Bidwill played _ a plucky, game, fighting right to tfie finish.-
