STREET IN VANCOUVER.—Vancouver is a young city. In the beginning of 1886 its site was a virgin forest. The few buildings that were erected the same year were burned down. It has now a population of about 35,000, and the same is increasing rapidly. Its streets, which are asphalted, are lit by electricity, while it has lines of electric cars all over city an d to Westminster, 10 miles distant. Its private residences, public buildings, business houses, hotels and clubs would do credit to a city many years its age and population.
