A London cablegram announces the death of ’Admiral Sir Henry Kernel. Deceased, who had reached the advanced \ age of ninety-five years, was .a descen- ' dant of Arnold van Keppel, who wias Avith the Prince of Orange s expedition in 1638, and who afterwards became Baron Ashford, Viscount Bury and 3M. of Albemarle Admiral Keppel commanded the naval brigade in the Crimean war, and was in charge of the naval forces -in the fighting in'China in 1857 and again in 1867-70.
