Mr Carlyon has recently landed at ius station two pure-bred Polled Angus bulls and two heifers, purchased from Messrs Murray Roberts’s Gladbrook station, Those who have seen them and are capable of giving an expert opinion, consider that they are a valuable addition to the Polled Angus herd of the province. This breed of cattle as coming into prominence in this district. The docking of the Romney lambs on Qwavas station is finished. The increase has been very large. Three hundred and forty-five lambs, the progeny of two hundred and fifey-five ewes, were docked, and fifty lost during the recent severe weather. Tfie ewes were purchased by Mr Carlyon from the Mt. Vernon flock, and the sires from Mr G. Wheeler, Halcombo. The lambs are in a iciy forward condition, most of them being fit for the butcher. October 16 th.
