NEW BOOKS AND NEW EDITIONS

“The Adventures of Prince Aqa Mirza,’* by Aquila Kempscer. T. Fisher Unwin, of London.

This is a small volume of short stories, all of which are so connected aa to form a volume, yeo each may be read without any notice of its forerunner, and without loss of interest in the book. The scene is India. India, with ids blaze of colour, its diversity of people, and its general interest to the Britisher, must always be a happy hunting-ground for the novelist. The anchor of this book introduces to our notice some of the many peculiarities and temperaments that the population of India teems with. The babu, the army, 'the fakir, and the Prince Aqa Mirza, all being introduced to give life and colour to his stories, which are all of great interest, and will be read with pleasure. As a book to wile away odd half-hours we feel that it will have a great sale.
