And White wins. (i) If 22—25, then 30...26; 23—30, 16...11; etc.; and White Avins. NOTES. A draughts book has lately been published at Madras, India, giving a full account of the fourth correspondence tourney for the championship of India. To play by correspondence seems a rather curious method of deciding the championship; but, as the editor, Mr F. IV. Slade, points"'out, when it is remembered that one player is living at Madras, another at Muireei, at distance of 2000 mules apart, the difficulty of arranging, a "cross board” tourney may be imagined. This ■work is the pioneer of the draughts literature of India, and therefore occupies a somewhat unique position.
