St. Peter’s Church was crowded with friends and speo<.ators on W ednesetay last on the occasion of the marriage of Miss May Toung, second daugneor of the late Mr Andrew Young, to Mr George Barley, son of tho lake Mr Robert Barley, Christchurch. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. G. P. Davys. Br. Fyfe presided at the organ. Tho bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr W. A. \’oung, looked very pretty in an exquisite gown of cream duciies.se satin draped with Limerick lace* and chiffon, .and woro orango bloissoms and veil. Miss Ruby Young (sister of the bride), Miss lv. Kirkoaldie and Miss Fi'eda Goodman (niece of the bride), acted as bridesmaids and were dressed in cream voile over silk trimmed with chiffon and Oriental embroidery, very pretty and becoming Victorian bounces. trimmed with wreaths of gioiro di-jou roses, and apricot tulle. Doth bride and maids carried beautiful shower bouquets of fuscias, silver daisies and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a handsome diamond ring, and to the bridesmaids gold necklets with pearl and gold pendants. Mr George Ivorr (Timaru) and Mr James Fleming attended as groomsmen. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s mother, when afternoon tea was dispensed to the numerous guests.

The bride’s going away dress was a. cream canvas over silk trimmed with, mignonette shade of Oriental embroidery, large hat of scarlet chiffon, berries and Paris lace. The presents were beautiful and numerous.

Mrs Young (mother of the bride) wore a black brocade, with fichu of chiffon and steel black bonnet with, touches of white.

Mrs Goodman (sister of the bride), black erepe do chine strapped with silk, Paris lace vest, black picture hat. Mrs Johnson (aunt of the bride), steel grey satin, black bonnet with violets. Mrs W. G. Young, black voile trimmed with cream insertion, black velvet hat with plumes. Mrs.A. E. Young, heliotrope canvas cloth trimmed with darker shade, panne cream crepe de chine vest, large cream hat.

Mils Mac Ewen, navy blue canva* cloth trimmed with cream Oriental 1 trimming largo cream hat. Miss Scully, fawn voile over silk, with touches of turquoise blue, black chiffon hat.

Miss Luckie, black figured voile trimmed with cream applique and lace, black chiffon hat with clusters cf i>olyanthus.

Alisa Inglia, navy blue tailor-mad® costume, black picture hat. Miss Seed, cream voile over silk, large velvet hat. Alias Payne, pale blue crepe de- ohine picture hat. Alias Petit, white figured mousseline, with touches of blue, large blue hat. Alia Rothschild, sea green voile trimmed with same shade of silk, hat to match.

Alisis C. Tringham, green canvai cjlobh trimmed with same of velvet?, large cream hat. Mrs Pownall, black brocade, black bonnet with touches of w r hite. Miss Pownall, cream voilto strapped with silk, black picture hat. Airs Richardson, black voile, with: vest of eau-de-nil silk and Paris lace, picture hat. Mrs Ames, black brocade, black boanet with touches of pale pink. Miss Grace Kirkcaldie, grass lawn over Shell pink silk, large pale blue hat. Miste Olive Kirkcaldie, cream voile trimmed with chiffon, cream satin straw hat.

Mrs Hannah, black figured voile,, black bonnet with touches of white. Aliss Hannah, cream voile, black picture hat.

Aliss Jessie Hannah, pale green* linen, large black hat. Mrs McGuire, black figured voile over heliotrope silk, black tooue with .clusters of violets. Aliss McGuire, cream voile with trimmings of black velvet; large velvet hat.

Aliss Lockie, black canvas cloth trimmed wdtk yellow lace, black hat with plumes. Aliss Alice Lockie, black crepe-de-chexua trimmed with cream satin and lace, black bait' with olusters of carnations.

Aliss Saunders, blue canvas cloth trimmed with scarlet silk, blue liat with scarlet flowers.

Aliss J. Hall, electric blue miberline large picture hat. • Aliss Taylor, pale green voile trimmed with chiffon, green chiffon hat w r ith clusters of pink roses.

Bra ss may he cleaned by mixing two ounces of rottenstone, one ounce of soft soap, and threepenny worth of oil of amber together. The result should be applied cn a piece of flannel, and the brass be afterwards polished* with a .soft duster*
