Yet another section of advance sheets of tlio '--Mew Zealand Year Book” has been issued by the Registrar-General (Mr Yon Dadeiszen). The latest section is entitled “Accumulation: Prices and Wanes.” It is of exceptional interest to the political and social student. From the chapter headed "banks of issue the following interesting particulars regarding bank bullion, etc., are taken: —“The published returns for the December quarter of each year show that the va f !ue of the coin and bullion held by allelic banks of issue doing business in New Zealand rose steadily from 1891 to 1895. in which year the value stood at £3,333,272. Since that date the value gradually decreased year by year to £2,630,177 in December quarter, 1899. but rose again to £2,802,232 in December, 1900. to £3,063,843 in December, 1901, and further to £3,292,090 in 1902. The bank deposits (not bearing interest) amounted to £8.730,644 ia 1902. ,> i
