This year the Salvation Army will hold its annual week of self-denial from October 10th to 16th. Commencing in. a modest way, this successful method of raising money has gone on until as much, as "thirty thousand pounds has been raised in one year in Australasia. This year the Army desires to raise twenty-five thousand pounds. As the various branches of the work done by the Salvation Army include much pra-ise-worchy effort of a humanitarian chaiaeter it is hoped that- the people of Welti rgt cn will put it- in the power of the local branch to continue its beneficent mission
